ARES
God of War
OVERVIEW
Ready For Battle
Ares is the first god you will challenge and is by design the most straightforward. He has advanced code for combat and resource gathering, but his strategy is simple: build up a large fleet and attack when he has more units than you.
Ares will not actively raid or target your gatherers. He isn't super mobile, so he can be vulnerable to fast moving attacks on his workers in different areas of the map.
His fleet will engage with Phalanx in the front, which activate Barrier when they are targeted, Myrmidon are the second line of defense - they're fairly fragile but deal a ton of damage at moderate range thanks to munitions. Catapults are bring up the rear, dealing splash damage to units that clump up.
He has one dynamic unit. The Myrmidon will use the AresMod for armor pentration if you have high block, the KrstosMod to stop your movement if you are highly mobile, and munitions otherwise.

PATHS TO VICTORY
Improve Economy
Your team has a substantial bonus at this difficulty level, which will help you keep pace with the Gods efficient resource collection.
If you make some improvements to resource gathering, it can snowball into a significant advantage.
Gather Your Forces
By default your units always just attack immediately, even if they are on their own.
You'll notice that Ares has a very concentrated, strong fleet.
Make sure you have enough units before you attack. When you "stream" units iin, they often will be outnumbered in each engagement and fall quickly.
Focus Fire
Idenitfy the best target, usually by finding the lowest health unit in a radius.
This will help you target Myrmidons and Catapults, rather than just Phalanx.
Divide up attack and movement into to different steps, so your units:
Move toward the best target overall
Fire at the best target in range
